[Self] Death Note

Death Note (the manga) was truly one of the finest comics with an intellectual dimension. A simple plot became a discourse and battle of wits between 2 great adversaries (well at least part 1 of the manga which was Light vs "L").

Death Note (the movies) were a sad attempt. With the exception of "L" who was potrayed rather well, the rest of the cast deviated so much from the original. There was an attempt to twist the storyline a bit - and that attempt remained .... an attempt.

I guess this is yet another reminder that some works should never trangress the original medium in which it originated from. And yeah, on that note I'm bracing myself for total disaster in the upcoming "Transformers" - even the 2nd trailer sucked-ass major big time.
