[Self] 2005 Kuh-plooeey! ~~ Yo Yo Yo!!! 2006!!!

http://cat.sckans.edu/physics/superposition.htm (open new browser - set the formula to ones below, not the original default values)

If life in 2005 was defined by the function f(x,t) = 2.9*sin(4.5*(x-2.0*t)) ..... Looking ahead I would like 2006 to be one defined more in terms of g(x,t) = 0.5*sin(3.0*(x-1.0*t)).

Yet it would be unrealistic to assume however I would get a moderated equivalent of h(x,t) = f(x,t) + g (x,t) coz that is not how life works anyway.

In fact, 2005 had more bloody lows than highs; but shit happens so if I got hit by "yin" so far you can only hope the opposing duplex "yang" force beams to me in 2006.

And that is life I guess - if you were a particle traveling on a sound wave (does that make sense?) you kind of get swept from one oscillation to the other. So to a better life ahead in self fulfillment, career, people around me, and the greater picture!

[WhatNext] Sensitivity Analysis

"I say Wilkins, let's vary that variable there. Yes, yes slightly to the right, spot on ol' chap! ..... What do say the results? Ahhh - not quite what we were looking for eh?"

"Ooooi !!! - whatever the results, I am damn pokai la!"

[Work] Post Project Brainstorm

Things are in a bit of a flux now, project is over (for now) but we're still busy though.

Pic: Post Its - All Over!

Got the remaining of the team to book an afternoon yesterday to run a brainstorm workshop.

Feedback was there, and it was interactive, and we went thru some good points and bad points of the project to date.

So overall:
- Processes kindof suck now and we have to improve there;
- I am a cruel and heartless rogue;
- Our teamwork was second to none in all the 3 project teams.

Had to also practically bully some of them (jestfully) to get some personal criticisms about me; finally managed to wring some stuff out of them. I think they kind of enjoyed the process too ;)

Many pics captured. And for my own - thought this one was kindof nice. It's a Newsweek Fareed Zakaria or Robert Samuelson kindof pic. Hopefully there'll be one in Parliament Question Time or something like that one day.

Pic: Trying to look senatorial and wise ".... and that Sir, is how white and black are the same color, dammit!"

[WhatNext] Futton Experiences

Bought 2 sets of Futton (a foldable Japanese sofa) from Ikea last Friday, and I only managed to fix it up fully 1 week later.

The thing was a PITA from the start. A chronological sequence of headaches after headaches:
- Each set consisted of 64 plastic nails; one set had only 63 - so I had to get 1 bloody screw from Ikea by driving there all the way again.
- Did I say plastic nails? Yeap they were plastic. The damn things "lari" when I hammered them in.
- Finally decided to use a metal screw / nail to replace the damn plastic, problem is I went to a few hardware shops from PJ to Segambut over 2 days but only found what I was looking for only in Setapak on Day 3. Wasted some money buying the wrong replacements before arriving in Setapak too.
- Now, if that ended there it would still be dandy. But I needed about 80 nails and they shop did not have stock.
- And I ended up getting them eventually over 2 more trips to Setapak (thanks Zeek).
- Finished Futton #1 on Tues midnight.
- Finished Futton #2 on Fri night 2130hrs.

So all in all (drum roll)
- I went back to Ikea the 2nd time to get a screw

- Ikea stuff is not that easy to assemble ... heck sometimes its a totally "futton" attempt
- But the overall experience has been .... SOFA ... so good

[Self] Lunch With Lil' Zeek

Had one of the funnest lunches on Sunday yesterday.

Dropped by Zeek's place without knowing Mrs. Z had already cooked for me. Tried to refuse at first but the sambal sotong looked so good I couldn't resist, and there was a plate of home grown vege which was pretty nice too.

Sat next to Lil' Zeek. He was a bit shy at first and did not look at me, just continued to pop mini strings of spaghetti into his mouth. Then later on Uncle Keen opened his big mouth and then "Uuuuummmm!!!"ed some rice, and the dude started to warm up.

Very soon, the generous little fella began feeding me a string of spaghetti that fell onto the table. And heck even a few hands of rice too in the midst of gobbling up 2 chunks of tofu. Thought him to toast a few rounds (water of course!) before had to head off.

Totally totally cute and bright little fella!
